How Do I Get A Library Card?

You need a current photo ID with current address OR two forms of identification which together show a current photo and current address. Frequently used types of identification include: current driver’s license, automobile registration, National Grid or telephone bill, tax receipt, sheriff’s identification, school or college identification card, or bus pass with address.

Start Your Library Card Application Process Online

If you do not already have an OCPL library card, and are at least 13 years old, you can begin your library card application online. When you register online, you will receive a temporary barcode number that you can use to request materials. Then come into the library and verify your current address with a picture ID or two other forms of ID to receive your permanent library card. After you have your permanent card, you can check out items and use the library’s other online services including the OverDrive digital catalog and the online databases.

To begin the online card application visit the My Account tab located in the OCPL Catalog, and follow the “click here to register now” link above the barcode/PIN box.

Replacing a Lost or Damaged Library Card

If you already have a library account, but have lost or damaged your card, please visit any of the OCPL libraries to get a replacement card. There is no charge the first time you need to replace your card. Please bring your photo ID and proof of address to be issued a replacement card.
